Followed everywhere

Monday 13 oct

Victoire Ingabire Umuhoza, leader of the opposition in Rwanda is under siege since Saturday night 22.00 hrs. Soldiers, police and their vehicles block all routes to her house. Why she is surrounded is unknown. It is one of the many harassments Ingabire has to endure. Since her arrival in Rwanda, January this year, all her movements are watched. In April she was accused of divisionism, terrorism and genocide ideology. Since then she awaits her trial, is not allowed to leave Kigali and has to visit the police every month. Because of the accusations, her party is not allowed to register. Therefore it's impossible for her to participate in the official Rwandan politics.
